Rotary and youth programmes 2024-25
The 2024-25 Rotary Year has been very successful with many varied activities and competitions with the local schools.
For the Primary Schools we run a football competition and a youth speaks competition.
The football competition is held in September and this year Crickhowell Primary were successful but all schools thoroughly enjoyed the morning.
Junior Youth Speaks. Crickhowell, Llangattock and Llangynidr primary schools have taken part this year. They have all prepared and performed well their chosen subject and were a credit to their schools and themselves. It is impressive to see youngsters of this age express themselves so clearly.
Reading Support at Llangattock Primary School. This has gone well with a good number of Rotarians giving an hour of their time on a Friday lunchtime. The school really welcomes this support as it gives the children the opportunity to meet adults whom they would not normally meet in a school environment.
In the High School we had two students from attend RYLA (Rotary Young Leadership Award) at Storey Arms. One of the students, Sam Critchley came to speak to the club and gave an interesting talk about his experience, achievements and what he had learned about himself.
