How we support international causes

Our Rotary Club is deeply committed to serving our local community, but we also recognise the importance of responding to global needs. Supporting international charities and disaster relief reflects our values of compassion and service beyond borders. This global outreach complements our local work, reinforcing our mission to make a positive impact both at home and around the world.

Our Rotary Club is deeply committed to serving our local community, while also recognising the importance of supporting global needs. In addition to our local projects, we proudly contribute to international charities and disaster relief efforts. We actively support key initiatives such as Rotary Foundation and End Polio Now, and other trusted international organisations. This global vision complements our local work, reflecting our values of compassion, service, and lasting impact both at home and around the world.

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary International’s charitable arm, transforming donations into life-changing projects around the world. It supports initiatives in peacebuilding, disease prevention, clean water, education, and economic development. Through grants and programs, the Foundation empowers Rotary clubs—like ours—to make a lasting impact both locally and globally. From funding clean water systems in remote villages to supporting scholarships and disaster relief, the Foundation is at the heart of Rotary’s mission to create sustainable, positive change.

End Polio Now: Rotary’s fight to eradicate Polio

Since 1985, Rotary has led the global campaign to end polio, a disease that once paralysed over 1,000 children every day. Working with partners like the World Health Organization and the Gates Foundation, Rotary has helped reduce polio cases by 99.9%, vaccinating over 2.5 billion children worldwide.

Thanks to this effort, 19 million people can walk who otherwise wouldn’t, and more than 1.5 million lives have been saved. Today, polio remains endemic in just two countries—Afghanistan and Pakistan—though outbreaks still occur in a few others.

Rotary remains committed to finishing the job. By supporting End Polio Now, we’re helping to protect children everywhere and move closer to a polio-free world.
