Crickhowell Rotary Install New President
At a celebratory event in The Bear Hotel Crickhowell on 19 June 2026 Brian Brookshaw was installed as Crickhowell Rotary Club’s President for the forthcoming 2026-27 Rotary year. Honoured guests included Rev Brian Pippen, Assistant District Governor, his wife Paula (herself an active member of Henylls Rotary Club) and Trevor Morgan, Incoming President Abergavenny Club and his wife Lynne.
Brian has been a member of the club since 2011. In welcoming Brian to his leadership position, outgoing President Hywel Bevan noted that Brian had previously been President of the club in 2017 and expressed the club’s appreciation of Brian standing again and wished him every success in leading the club into the future.
In reviewing the last 12 months, Hywel commented that the club had recruited 6 new members, taking our membership to 31, including 5 lady members! He thanked fellow Rotarians for their commitment to club and community in the past year. He also remarked on how the positive benefits of being member of such a fun, friendly, effective group of people had benefitted him. He expressed satisfaction at the continuing level of support for the club in the Crickhowell community. Hywel proceeded to install Brian as President.
Past President Hywel Bevan installs Brian Brookshaw as President for 2026-2027
Incoming President Brian Brookshaw outlined some of his feelings for the club’s new year in an ever changing world. Recognising the support he had received from the club during his vice presidential year, he expressed his gratitude to Rotarians, in particular Hywel Bevan, the outgoing president, for his support and his efforts on behalf of the club. Brian then installed Angela Mills as the club’s Vice President, Mike Axford as Club Secretary and Stephen Flynn as Club Treasurer.
Brian added “As President, I inherit an outstanding heritage, but the club will continue to face new challenges and I look forward to working with members of our club in the spirit of our motto ‘Service Above SeIf’.”
