Crickhowell Rotary Club – Crickhowell High School Young Interviewer Competition
Crickhowell Rotary hosted its annual Young Interviewer competition on Friday 5th of December. This year’s interviewee was Professor Lyndol Roper, the prestigious Regis Chair at Oxford University.
Guided by their teacher, Harry Bowsher, the pupils delivered impressive interviews, posing thoughtful, probing questions that showcased both their curiosity and confidence. The range and depth of the discussions meant that the audience learned far more than expected from Professor Roper’s insights.
It was clear from their performances that many of these young people may, one day, be interviewing politicians, public figures or even film stars.
It was an extremely difficult task for the judges , Mike Axford, Stephen Parry and Ann Williams. However they were unanimous in their choices:
First Place – Iola Lewis
Second place – Henry Jones-Burles
Third Place – Gracie Kindon
Highly Commended – Tanaka Holman

Crickhowell Rotary Club extends its grateful thanks to Professor Holman for her honest, inspiring and engaging responses. Her reflections on life as a historian and author captivated the room and left a lasting impact on the students. Rotarian organiser Frank Williams offered a vote of thanks which was warmly received by all present.
Once again, Crickhowell High School excelled, giving every confidence that the future is in capable hands
