Crickhowell High School visits Rockfield Studios

“Thanks to the generosity of Stephen Parry, the Rotary Club of Crickhowell and Rockfield Studios, our AS/A2 classes and band members from year 11 had an amazing trip out last week when they were given a guided tour of Rockfield Studios, Monmouth. Special thanks need to go to Lisa Ward – Studio Manager – a truly impassioned, charismatic, charming and totally lovely host!

 

 

Students thoroughly enjoyed their hands-on afternoon, entertained and enthused with stories of how some of the best musicians of the past 50 years created some of their most well-known pieces as well as seeing how the studios are continuing to create masterpieces blending analogue and digital tech. 

Mrs Callow and Mr Clark spent most of the time nearly speechless, marvelling at the history on show and wondering how they were lucky enough to spend part of their working day in such a wonderful place! 

So the next plan for Music at CHS,  is how we get to go back, channel some of this Rockfield magic and do some songwriting and recording ourselves?!”
